What do you call a collection of Provincial
Grand Supreme Rulers? *
On a cold February night no less than 33 Brethren were present to witness the Supreme Ruler of Dr James Edward Glover Conclave 409, induct a "new" Brother into the Order. But this was no ordinary meeting as the Provincial Team was in attendance as well as VWyBro Tim Crawshaw a Grand Visitor. Ifnthat was not enough, RWyBro Spence Braithwaite, the Provincial Grand Supreme Ruler for North Scotland chanced to be in the area so joined in the fun! Imagine how the Brethren of the Conclave felt when news was received that the Candidate was unable to attend at short notice. However, this order being what it is, who should step into the breech and act as the Candidate but the Provincial Grand Supreme Ruler for East Lancashire, RWyBro Howard Stephen Nuttall himself! This in itself caused some confusion as at one point in the Ceremony the Candidate was being led by WyBro Anthony H Nuttall so when the Supreme Ruler called "Bro Nuttall!" there was a pause whilst they determined which one was being addressed!! Cord recruitment campaign has been so successful that the Provincial Grand Inspector has decided that an extraordinary
meeting will be held on Wednesday 29th February 2012 where no less than FIVE candidates will be Inducted into the Ancient
and Masonic Order of the Scarlet Cord.

Provincial Grand Conclave of East Lancashire Gala Dinner. As in previous years, the event will be held at Bury Masonic Hall. On a typical misty January evening, VWyBro Walter Yule, a Grand
Visitor of the year, ventured over the A6 boundary to attend his first official Visit and what a meeting to choose!
Roche Valley Conclave, 252, were Inducting a new Secret Monitor and the Supreme Ruler, WyBro Colin Clegg, had invited VWyBro Stephen Jackson to perform the Ceremony. VWyBro Jackson demonstrated why the Provincial Supreme Grand Ruler had asked him to resurrect the Provincial Demonstration Team. The Grand Visitor commented to the newly Inducted Secret Monitor, Bro John Mellor, that he "will never see a better ceremony that that!" Credit must also be given to the Provincial Grand Guide, WyBro David Rigby, and to WyBros Kevin Nuttall and Jim Beecroft who also assisted in the Ceremony in a most able manner. Indeed thanks must go to everyone who was involved in this excellent ceremony! The Festive Board was what we have come to expect from any vist to Shaw and the Provincial Team were very well looked after by this very vibrant Conclave. The second visit is to Dr James Edward Glover Conclave, 409, on 6th February at Rochdale. Both meetings will work a Ceremony of Induction. Tuesday 22nd November the Provincial Grand Supreme Ruler presented a cheque to the East Lancashire Branch of the Alzheimer's
Society on behalf of Roses in Concord Conclave, 185. The Society helps the growing number of people who are suffering from this debilitating condition. _______________________________________________________ Grand Conclave - 10th November 2011
Grand Conclave was held
on a murky day at Edgbaston, Birmingham.
Although the weather was not the finest, the atmosphere within the Grand Conclave was of the highest order which was generated by the warmth of welcome from the MWy Grand Supreme Ruler, Michael William Guest. In his address to Grand Conclave MWyBro Guest reported on the amount of travelling that he and his Officers had carried out during the past year. As well as various trips to the Indian Sub-continent and Caribbean, MWyBro Guest singled out just one conclave for special mention - Dr James Edward Glover Conclave, 409, in Rochdale where he made an official visit in August. He commented on the excellent standard of the work and of the welcome afforded to him by the Brethren of East Lancashire. You could almost hear the buttons on the PGSR's shirt popping as his chest swelled with pride! installation as Deputy Provincial Grand Supreme Ruler, WyBro Frank Smith attended the Installation Ceremony of Bury Conclave,

In a most impressive ceremony, WyBro Stuart Corless installed his successor, Bro George Turner, as Supreme ruler of the fine old Conclave. The new DPGSR conducted the Commissioning of the Supreme Ruler in the manner that this Province has come to expect from its Rulers.
