On Thursday 25th August 2011, a Regular Meeting of the Vale of Irwell Consistory, 16TI was
held at Rawtenstall Masonic Hall.
DistComp StephenJackson continued as President, and we all look forward
to a second full year of Scarlet Cord Masonry in East Lancashire.

On Wednesday 21st July 2010, those present at
Great Queen Street witnessed a very rare event in Masonic History, the Inauguration of a new Sovereign Order, namely:
The Ancient Masonic Order of the Scarlet Cord.
The Scarlet Cord Conclave of East Lancashire,
542 was at the same time released from the Roll of Grand Conclave and became:
The Vale of Irwell Consistory Number,
16 TI
The
Scarlet Cord Conclave of East Lancashire,
No 542 (Now The Vale of Irwell Consistory,
16TI) was Consecrated in fine style at Ash Day Lee, Rawtenstall on Thursday 27th
August 2009 by RWyBro James McKeeman, Past Provincial Grand Supreme Ruler for Cheshire and North Wales, assisted by VWyBro
The Right Reverend Gerard J Crane, PGChap. RWyBro Geoffrey W Litherland, the Immediate Past Provincial Grand
Supreme Ruler for East Lancashire then Installed RWyBro Howard Stephen Nuttall, Provincial Grand Supreme Ruler for East Lancashire,
as the First Supreme Ruler of the new Conclave.
Amongst the Brethren who witnessed this historic event were no
less then three Provincial Supreme Grand Rulers; RWyBro Stewart G Carley from West Yorkshire, RWyBro Samuel J Keery
from Cheshire & North Wales and RWyBro Ian H Taylor from West Lancashire, each with Brethren from their Provinces.
In addition RWyBro John L Tewson, Past Provincial Grand Supreme Ruler for Staffordshire & Shropshire, travelled
up from Staffordshire to join in the fun as it was a very happy occasion capped by an excellent Festive Board!
